OVER 30 YEARS OF INNOVATION: FROM THE FIRST PAINTING ROBOTS TO THE EFORT GROUP PARTNERSHIP
Founded in 1994, CMA Robotics designs and develops robots for automated industrial painting, with experience across all coating applications.
The company was established by Paolo Piano, Sergio Della Mea, and Marco Zanor, combining expertise in electronics and robotics to develop anthropomorphic robots dedicated to coating applications.
Today, CMA Robotics operates in over 60 countries worldwide, with headquarters in Pavia di Udine, Italy, and in 2003 established the German subsidiary CMA Roboter to support the European central market.

The importance of ATEX certification
Directive 2014/34/EU came into force to regulate equipment intended for use in areas at risk of explosion. The directive is aimed at manufacturers of equipment intended for use in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, and takes the form of a mandatory certification requirement for these products. Compliance with the regulation is necessary for machinery and all industrial equipment that operate and work in areas at risk of triggering an explosion (zones 1, 2, 21, 22). It is for this reason that machines operating in areas at risk of explosion are converted to be explosion-proof ("Explosion Proof Protected"). CMA Robotics periodically undergoes inspection audits by certification bodies, offering the utmost integrity and reliability to its customers.
CMA Robotics Painting Lab
CMA Robotics has a dedicated advanced painting lab, which it is always making available to its customers to perfom any simulation test with liquid or powder spraying. You will be able to perform a complete painting cycle and view the result on the product, allowing you to modify and customize it according to your needs.
In this space, our new technologies are developed and tested, and then offered to out customers.

Discover the Efort Group
In 2015, CMA Robotics Spa became an integral part of the EFORT group, which brings together the passion and experience of major players in the industrial robotics sector for a strategic sharing of ideas around the ongoing need for innovation.
This group was created to consolidate CMA Robotics' experience in an ever-expanding market. As a result, CMA painting robots can benefit from an even more complete integration, not only in terms of the physical system offered to the customer but also in terms of technological solutions featuring the latest developments in the sector.
In March 2018, CMA Robotics China was established, founded by CMA in partnership with Efort Intelligent Equipment. The purpose of this important collaboration is to closely follow the Chinese market and the Asian market more broadly.
Located within the partner company's premises, this operation has over 3,000 sq m of workshop space, more than 500 sq m of offices, and a substantial testing room equipped with both overhead and floor-mounted systems, as well as all the equipment needed to carry out demonstrations for customers. In synergy with Efort, which has produced general-purpose robots for many years, new products for the painting sector suited to the Chinese market are thus constantly being developed.
